This Women’s Health Month, we’re exploring how remote patient monitoring can empower women to make informed health choices. By knowing their biometric data and sharing this information with their providers, women are playing a more active role in their well-being.

At Ceras, we serve the Medicare patient population.  We help our female patients manage an array of health issues, from heart disease and cancer complications, to stroke and diabetes. However, more American women die of heart disease than any other condition, and the instance of cardiovascular disease is nearly 75% for those aged 60-79, jumping to 86% for those over 80 (American Heart Association).  This poses a significant challenge for healthcare, and we take pride in our ability to reduce the number of emergency room visits and inpatient hospital stays for our patients. Through our wearable smart watch, 4G enabled blood pressure monitor, and smart scale, Ceras patients are remotely monitoring and sharing their heart rate, oxygen level, body mass, blood pressure, and even their sleep patterns with our clinically trained Care Coordinators and partner providers daily.  These devices help our Care Coordinators and AI-enabled platform identify trends before an adverse event occurs. The 24/7 feedback loop that our devices, platform, and Ceras Empower application provide help patients improve their medication compliance and understanding of their condition, while also alleviating the administrative burden our partner providers may be experiencing.

RPM has evolved to allow women to be more informed about their health. When paired with a human touch like it is at Ceras, our female patients and providers are simultaneously supported and empowered with this information to establish and audit their care plans regularly, leading to improved patient outcomes and more educated patient and provider decisions.  The advent of RPM has transformed women’s healthcare while also representing a significant stride towards achieving health equity for women. Remote patient monitoring serves as a catalyst for change, enabling women to make informed decisions about their well-being, while healthcare providers can deliver personalized and timely interventions. Through embracing and championing this technology, patients and providers are ensuring every woman has access to the information she needs to live a healthier life.
